The Second Phase of Diamond Tail Ranch is a continuation of the extraordinary low-density Master Planned Community. Home site prices begin in the $150,000’s. Limited-access gates at the entrance are closed at night. Distant views are available from most areas of Diamond Tail including the Jemez,  Sangre de Cristo and Ortiz  mountains, open plains and valleys around the community. Immediately to the west are the  900 + acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Public Open Space. To the north our neighbor is the San Felipe Pueblo. Federal Forest Service lands are nearby to the south. From virtually all areas one can see the  the Sandia Mountains that backdrop Albuquerque.

Phase II includes 546 acres with 142 homesites ranging in size from 1.2 to 5.73 acres, with an average of over two acres. Phase II consists of two parts: 81 home sites close to Phase I, and the balance in the adjacent, more northerly portion of the development.

All properties have underground utilities including natural gas, paved streets and no streetlights! All homesites are served by a shared well provided by the developer. Septic systems are used by all homes. Included within the community are developed trails, open space, gazebos, and two parks including Shooting Star Corral designed to accommodate telescope usage and the “Bark Park” for our canine companions.

Extensive covenants and a detailed design review process are in place to assure the continuation of the high quality and unique character of the homes in our community.

Natural landscaping is required and energy-efficient construction is strongly encouraged. All homes will include water conservation in their design. Holding ponds that store rainwater run-off are required on all site plans. Water usage is capped at 1/3 acre feet per year (over 9,000 gallons per month) to manage our use of natural resources.

Currently television service is received by satellite. High speed wireless service is available in the community. Being so distant from freeways and urban development, the only sounds we hear is the evening are those of natural wildlife.

The location of Diamond Tail Ranch is unique. We are a master-planned community close to two great cities, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, yet very far away from the congestion of urban and suburban life.
